Next week, the Karrusel festival returns to the secluded forest of Refshaleøen to celebrate its 5th edition. The event will feature three days of house, disco, and techno, with 54 artists performing across four stages under the open skies.

Earlier this month, the students of architecture at the Danish Royal Academy held an opening and vernissage of their semester project “Det Flydende Hus” (The Floating House).
A central building material here is rammed earth, which is both strong and fragile, solid and fluid. According to the students, The Floating House can serve as a dynamic exhibition platform and a gathering point for Refshaleøen’s cultural life. The intention behind the house is “to expand and explore the material boundaries within the field of architecture” in ways that “equally value construction technique and poetic character.

The house will be displayed until November 2024 and you can find it on Beddingen, close to Copenhagen Contemporary. Learn more via @detflydendehus ✨

3 DAYS OF DESIGN – DISTRICT REFSHALEØEN: JUNE 12 – 14
You can still experience District Refshaleoen and its series of inspiring free events as 3 Days of Design with its last day on Friday June 14th.
With ‘Dare to Dream’ as this year’s overarching theme, the festival explores how design can act as a catalyst to drive a culture of innovation and create positive change. From symposiums and workshops to exhibitions and events, District Refshaleøen hosts a total of 36 events where you can experience the intersection of circular design, sustainability, innovation, material research, and innovation. 🌍✨
